The Amazing Race, fresh off it's Emmy win, has announced the new contestants. There will be 12 teams competing in the race around the world.
Let's take a look at the teams:
Bilal and Sa'eed: Best friends. One outgoing, one quiet.
David and Mary: Married parents. Wearing silly shirts with pictures of their kids plastered on the front.
Duke and Lauren: Father and Daughter. Duke had nothing to do with Lauren for a few years because she is gay. They are hoping the race will bring them closer. I always think this is a bad idea. Don't put yourself in a stressful situation where you have very little sleep unless you like each other a whole lot. Go to counseling, not a trip around the world.
Dustin and Kandace: Best friends. They almost look like twins. Twin Barbie dolls. They met while competing in the Miss America pageant.
Erwin and Godwin: Brothers. One went to Harvard and apparently the other has never done anything noteworthy.
Kellie and Jamie: Best friends. Former cheerleading co-captains.
Lyn and Karlyn: Best friends from Alabama. Not much travel experience. Which is good when, you know, the whole contest is about..travel.
Peter and Sarah: Friends. They both compete in Iron Man tournaments. Sarah has a prosthetic leg. Peter works with people who need prosthetic legs.
Rob and Kimberly: Dating. Just moved in together. Have had "rocky" relationship moments before.
Tom and Terry: Dating. Terry is also a guy. They've been together for two years.
Tyler and James: Best friends. Both models. Both have been through rehab. One has the same hair as Adam in Survivor. Why is molding your hair into a cone a good look??
Vipul and Arti: Married. They are the first Indian-American team to run the race.
At this point, nobody really stands out as a top team. The only team I'd vote against are Duke and Lauren because they are carrying drama.
The Season Premier is Sunday, September 17th at 8:30.
